The Russian newspaper Pravda, in its Internet version, makes an important ... revelation:

first, it confirms the existence of Unidentified Flying Objects, and secondly it tells us that in December 2012 will arrive on Earth three giant spaceships with ... hostile intentions!

Most of them have a diameter of ... 240 km, and at this time the alien armada is on Pluto.

According to this story, the alien spacecraft have been identified by NASA, through the HAARP program which studies the northern lights in Alaska and will be fully visible by optical telescopes when they arrive on Mars!

The article claims as a source SETI, the internationally recognized research program on the existence of extraterrestrial life.(read more)

The Maya were quite accomplished astronomers. Their primary interest, in contrast to "western" astronomers, were Zenial Passages when the Sun crossed over the Maya latitudes. On an annual basis the sun travels to its summer solstice point, or the latitude of 23-1/3 degrees north.
Most of the Maya cities were located south of this latitude, meaning that they could observe the sun directly overhead during the time that the sun was passing over their latitude. This happened twice a year, evenly spaced around the day of solstice.(read more)

Gary Heseltine has won the 2010 Disclosures Award for his database of UFO sightings by British police officers.

Heseltine's interest in the phenomenon started at the age of 15 when he sighted a strange object in the sky while walking his girlfriend home. His database contains over 330 cases and testimonies from 750 police officers.

At home, we would certainly be careful but we think that the restaurants should be even more careful!

It looks like a fry. Came from the Red Sea and has already reached the Dodecanese.

Tetradotoxin, the substance of lagokefalos (rabbit-head).

This neurotoxin is 1250 times more powerful than cyanide. An antidote is not available, treatment (at the onset), is only symptomatic. The first symptoms occur 30 minutes after ingestion of fish and in some cases it may be delayed up to four hours, depending on the amount ingested.

The range of symptoms is as follows:
First, numb lips and tongue. The next symptom is paresthesia (a shutting of an eye and a sense of lightness or swinging and floating); a feeling of  floating like a cork. 

Afterwards a headache and severe pain in the stomach / abdomen continues to progressive paralysis and total immobility. There is also increasing respiratory failure and cardiac arrhythmia.

Νευροτοξίνη 1250 φορές πιο ισχυρή από το κύανιο. Αντίδοτο δεν υπάρχει, η όποια θεραπεία (εάν προλάβεις) είναι μόνο συμπτωματική. Τα πρώτα συμπτώματα εμφανίζονται 30 λεπτά μετα την κατάποση του ψαριού καιαναλόγως της ποσότητας, μπορεί να καθυστερήσουν έως και 4 ώρες.

Η σειρά των συμπτώματων έχει ως εξής:

Πρώτα μουδιάζουν τα χείλη και η γλώσσα. Το επόμενο σύμπτωμα είναι παραισθησία ( και μία αίσθηση ελαφρότητας σαν να αιωρείσαι η σαν να επιπλέεις. Κάτι σαν φελλός ένα πράγμα. Μετα ξεκινάει πονοκέφαλος, έντονος πόνος στο στομάχι/κοιλιά που συνεχίζει σε σταδιακή παραλυσία και καθολική ακινησία. Παράλληλα υπάρχει αυξανόμενη αναπνευστική ανεπάρκεια και καρδιακή αρρυθμία.

The Main Asteroid Belt is located between the planets of Mars and Jupiter.
It has been suggested that it may be the remnants of an unknown planet X that
exploded in the long past.
But scientists think that they are loose material that never formed into planets.
They are small and large pieces of rock and metal orbiting around the Sun.
According to Βode’s Law,  (a mathematical formula that calculates the distances
between the planets in our solar system), another planet should exist between Mars and Jupiter instead of the asteroids.
         
There are 26 known asteroids of a diameter larger than 200 km. We probably know 90% of the asteroids of a larger than 100 km diameter.
Only half of the asteroids in the 10 km to 100 km size range have been cataloged.
Scientists still don't know much about the smaller ones. It is believed that
there may be as many as a million 1 km sized asteroids.

Note that Bode’s Law only works when the asteroid belt is included as a "planet"
(current evidence suggests that no planet ever existed in the asteroid belt).

Η κύρια  ζώνη των αστεροειδών βρίσκεται μεταξύ των πλανητών Άρη και Δία.
Έχει διατυπωθεί η άποψη ότι μπορεί να είναι τα απομεινάρια ενός αγνώστου πλανήτη Χ, που εξερράγη κατά το μακρινό παρελθόν.
Αλλά οι επιστήμονες πιστεύουν ότι είναι χαλαρά υλικά που ποτέ δεν συγκροτήθηκαν  σε πλανήτες.
Είναι μικρά και μεγάλα κομμάτια βράχων και μετάλλων σε τροχιά γύρω από τον Ήλιο.

A new approach to desalination being developed by researchers at MIT and in Korea could lead to small, portable desalination units powered by solar cells or batteries that could deliver enough fresh water to supply the needs of a family or small village. As an added bonus, the system would also remove many contaminants, viruses and bacteria at the same time.
The new approach, called ion concentration polarization, is described in a paper by Postdoctoral Associate Sung Jae Kim and Associate Professor Jongyoon Han, both in MIT’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and colleagues in Korea.

When a star dies, it often disappears in many different ways. When a star like our sun dies, it loses its outer layers leaving behind a White Dwarf. When extremely massive stars die, they often blow up in a huge explosion called a Supernova. Depending on how massive a star was that turned into a supernova, a Neutron Star or a Black Hole may be left behind as a monument to the star's life.

Όταν ένα κανονικό αστέρι, όπως ο ήλιος μας, πεθαίνει, εξαφανίζεται αποτινάζοντας τα εξωτερικά στρώματά του και αφήνοντας πίσω ένα Λευκό Νάνο. Όταν πραγματικά τεράστια αστέρια πεθαίνουν, συχνά εκρήγνυνται σε μια τεράστια Σουπερνόβα. Ανάλογα με το πόση ογκώδης ήταν η αρχική μάζα ενός αστεριού όταν έγινε Σουπερνόβα, ένα σώμα νετρονίων ή μια μαύρη τρύπα μπορεί να έχει μείνει σαν μνημείο για τη ζωή του αστεριού.

α' 'Εν ἀρχῇ ἐποίησεν ὁ Θεὸς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν. β' ἡ δὲ γῆ ἦν ἀόρατος καὶ ἀκατασκεύαστος, καὶ σκότος ἐπάνω τῆς ἀβύσσου, καὶ πνεῦμα Θεοῦ ἐπεφέρετο ἐπάνω τοῦ ὕδατος. γ' καὶ εἶπεν ὁ Θεός· γενηθήτω φῶς· καὶ ἐγένετο φῶς. δ' καὶ εἶδεν ὁ Θεὸς τὸ φῶς, ὅτι καλόν· καὶ διεχώρισεν ὁ Θεὸς ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ φωτὸς καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ σκότους.
